Job Description:

Job Title : Head Manufacturing Operation

Grade : General Manager(GM1)

Department : Operations

Reporting to : CMD

Location : New Delhi

Responsibilities:

- Execute and establish the policies, plans, practices, and personnel related to all the manufacturing activities of an organization

- Direct all production control, production process development, quality systems, purchasing, and logistics/receiving activities.

- Enabling all Unit Heads of all manufacturing units in achieving the targets by providing support and expertise as and when required.

- Ensure manufacturing capabilities and budgetary implementation for cost effective production.

- Develop, establish and direct execution of operating policies to support overall company policies and objectives.

- Developing and implementing systems for effective operation management and development so as to meet agreed operations and organization targets within agreed budgets and timelines.

- Regular Monitoring & Supervision of

a) Technical Performance of the production facilities (Yield / Quality / Production / Capacities / Repair / Maintenance)

b) Stocks / Inventory / Material Management (Raw / Finished / By-products)

c) Dispatch Schedules - its compliances

d) Other matters (commercial / HR / Administration)

- Liasoning with other functional/departmental (sales, units, procurement)

- Ensuring that the operation activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies.

- Doing Spot inspections of manufacturing facilities / units (Upkeep of ISO systems)

- Preparing accumulating / monitoring of budgets of all units.

- To ensure that departmental processes, procedures, service delivery and records management are uniform, consistent and efficient.

- Providing guidance on performance standards and policies and procedures for the department.

- Be a part of think tank of organization

a) provide & accept operations perspective

b) Study and simulate statistical scenarios

c) adapt & supplement expansion possibilities

- Evaluating & presenting capital expenditure for Final Management decision making.

- Representing organization at Operations related national / international workshops & seminars and also encourage other levels in the department.

- Doing annual and monthly Performance appraisals of Operations / teams.

- Defining role & responsibilities, job description KRA- S of team members with the help of HR department.

- Support HR initiatives on training need and identification

Personal Attributes:

- Should have relevant experience in the field of manufacturing operations desirable to have chemical/ petrochemical exposure.

- Should have exposure of handling multi location units and diversified manpower.

- Desirable- be conversant with and able to read engineering drawings related to civil / electrical /mechanical process.

- Should have experience in handling employee relations issues and laws related to workforce.

- Should have knowledge of business and management principles involved in production.

Educational Qualification:

- MBA/ PG in Operations or General Management is a must.

- BE or BTech in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Industrial Production or BSc in Chemistry

Skills:

- Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work productively in an interdisciplinary team environment.

- Strong leadership and managerial skills with commitment to operational excellence.

- Good computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and Power point.

- Should be a self-starter and a team player with an ability in an entrepreneurial environment.

- Strong problem solving skills.

Experience:

- A minimum of 5-8 years- experience preferably in manufacturing (leading production and equipment function).

- Should have relevant experience in the field of manufacturing operations desirable to have chemical & petrochemical exposure.

- Have a working understanding of quality management systems.

- Have a working understanding of health and safety best practice.

- Have a working understanding of production planning and scheduling.
