Position Overview

The organization is seeking a highly experienced AGM/Sr. Manager for the Design and Development department at the Karoli location. This role demands a seasoned leader to oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to market launch. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced proficiency in design tools, possess strong leadership capabilities, and exhibit a deep understanding of product lifecycle management, engineering methodologies, and team dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Design & Development Leadership

- Lead and manage the end-to-end design and development of new products, systems, and components, from concept through to commercial launch.

- Apply strong technical expertise in CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, ANSYS) to ensure product design excellence.

- Oversee design validation and prototyping processes, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

2. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

- Manage the entire lifecycle of products, ensuring adherence to design validation, prototyping, and quality standards at each stage of development.

3. Cross-Functional Team Management

- Lead and collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams across different cultures, ensuring optimal coordination and execution of project goals.

- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment that emphasizes innovation, efficiency, and high performance.

4. Design Standards, Patents & IP Management

- Establish and enforce compliance with industry design standards and intellectual property (IP) management practices.

- Ensure the proper management of patents and support the development of new intellectual properties.

5. Engineering Strategy and Development Methodology

- Define and execute the engineering strategy, development methodologies, and design principles to meet organizational objectives.

- Lead design reviews and failure mode analysis (FMEA), ensuring design robustness and manufacturability.

6. Collaboration with Product Management & Other Departments

- Partner with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure that product designs are manufacturable (DFM) and cost-efficient.

- Drive initiatives to optimize product development processes, cost structures, and time-to-market.

7. Budget, Timeline, and Resource Management

- Manage engineering budgets, project timelines, resource allocation, and vendor relationships to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and on schedule.

8. Design Reviews & Product Assessments

- Lead product design reviews, risk assessments, and product reliability studies to ensure the development of high-performance, reliable products.

9. Engineering Documentation Management

- Ensure the establishment and maintenance of comprehensive engineering documentation, including CAD libraries, BOMs, and change management systems.

- Enforce rigorous document control to ensure all engineering data is properly archived and traceable.

10. Team Leadership and Development

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring ongoing professional growth.

- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

- Educational Qualification: B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering), or a related field.

- Professional Experience: 18-22 years of relevant engineering experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a senior leadership or management role.

- Technical Expertise:

- In-depth knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and design tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, ANSYS).

- Proven track record of leading the design and development of complex products and systems.

- Leadership & Management Skills:

- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead multi-disciplinary, cross-functional engineering teams.

- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Industry Knowledge:

- Thorough understanding of design standards, intellectual property management, and quality systems.

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.

- Project Management Skills:

- Strong experience in budget management, resource allocation, and project scheduling.

- Ability to balance multiple priorities and work under pressure.
