RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads the development of new and/or improved products in Ayurvedic category that are technically sound, meet regulatory compliance for the India market and effectively meet marketing objectives by:

- Formulating or constructing products, devices or other sub-components that results in a product that meets consumers needs and aligns with business priorities

- Effectively partnering with Marketing, Technical Regulatory and Consumer Product Research and other cross-functional team members to establish appropriate technical profiles to meet functional, aesthetic and product claims platforms that meet consumer needs

- Coordinating, documenting and interpreting data and technical outcomes of bench top and small scale experiments furthering the understanding of product or concept robustness in preparation for larger scale experiments

- Developing standards and production specifications that enable products to be manufactured consistently and safely which meet quality and regulatory requirements

- Maintaining and troubleshooting products in the field toward improvements to better meet design, function, processing, operation or sensory quality which enhances compliance or integrity standards

- Partnering with Marketing and Sales counterparts to present and/or demonstrate products to the customer in support of key business strategies

- Conducting early research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of product ideas, prototypes or concepts

- Performing as a technical liaison with global partners, Marketing Affiliates and technical counterparts to enhance understanding of executing developments for Indian and Regional markets

- Developing relationships with internal & external experts, vendors and collaborators toward idea generation and innovation which is applied to product development

- Providing mentoring, coaching and support on technical programs and projects; may include directing the day-to-day work of lower level scientists/engineers, interns and/or contractors

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :

Proficient grasp of the following core skill set or experience with:

- Ayurvedic Sciences, Chemical composition, structure and properties of substances and transformations they undergo toward the optimization of product engineering, development or formulation

- Use of related analytical or scientific software, databases and applications to include use of typical office suite software packages

- Product development processes, principles and practices including the critical design and development phases of a project from discovery through delivery

- Approaches, tools and techniques that promote the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns and relationships to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods and interpretations in a variety of business situations

- Evaluating propositions or hypotheses and making judgments on the basis of well-supported evidence

- Identifying and anticipating problems, reviewing related information, developing and evaluating options, making decisions and implementing solutions

- Effectively communicating and presenting technical complex data (both verbally and written) to influence all levels and global audiences

- Applying scientific research principles and practices, experimental design and execution, and creating or locating, interpreting and evaluating research findings

- Interacting with/leading cross-functional teams to achieve defined objectives through consulting and positive interaction with culturally diverse team members, external partners and clients

- Planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling projects; ensuring efficient utilization of technical resources and appropriate mitigation of risk to achieve project objectives

- Continuously seeking and sharing new developments, advancements and knowledge in relevant fields

Educational Qualification: B.Sc/ M.Sc in Chemistry, Ayurvedic Formulation, Pharmaceuticals or related Sciences or Engineering discipline
