Application Engineer - Light Vehicle Mechanical Systems (4-8 yrs)

Job Responsibilities:

- Accountable for development of light vehicle systems products of closures latch mechanism.

- Experience in Product development from concept to production involving customer engagement, development, validation, test failure resolutions, root causing - etc.

- Follow the engineering processes available in the team

- Good knowledge on manufacturing process of Stampings, injection moldings, die casting.

- Knowledge on sheet metal part design, plastic part design.

- Expertise in use of design tools like FMEA, DVP, ..etc

- Perform engineering calculations necessary for the product design of these components and systems.

- Provide support to manufacturing engineering, and quality at plant.

- Work on product changes and make sure that they are implemented correctly.

- Work in a matrix organization i.e., local support to plant, represent body systems engineering.

- Ensure the robust application of bookshelf solutions in line with the product strategies of the Centers of Expertise.

- Proven knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up.

- Knowledge in the use of problem solving tools as 8D, Fishbone, Is/Isnot..etc

- Benchmark competitor products and provide feedback to the COE of market trends

- Coordinate the technical content of the customer RFQ's.

- Ensure & execute a full analysis of customer specification before RFQ submission to the customer.

- Ensure all product designs are fully validated to OEM to release for production.

- Measure & Ensure Customer satisfaction, Quality, Cost and Delivery.

- Support Business Representatives for technical discussions with customers on standard products.

- Assist in training new and contract Engineers/Designers.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical / Automotive)

- 4 years minimum experience in System or component design and development for the Automotive Industry.

- 3 years- experience using the respective CAD Tool.

- Knowledge & experience of working with local OEM's.

- Good communication skills

- Project management experience will be an added advantage

- International exposure will be an added advantage

- Good presentation & communication skills
