Application Engineer - Simulation (2-7 yrs)

Job Overview
We are looking for a technically skilled and customer-oriented Application Engineer - Simulation to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support for SOLIDWORKS Simulation and related tools, conducting client trainings and technical demonstrations, troubleshooting software issues, and supporting pre- and post-sales activities. This is a hybrid role combining technical consulting, field service, and training responsibilities, aimed at ensuring customer satisfaction and optimal usage of simulation tools.
The role requires travel whenever needed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Support & Troubleshooting
- Respond to technical queries related to SOLIDWORKS Simulation via phone, email, and remote sessions.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to FEA modeling, simulation workflows, and software usability.
- Document support cases, resolutions, and client feedback for continuous improvement.
2. On-site Installation & Configuration
- Install and configure SOLIDWORKS Simulation and related tools at client locations.
- Assist with software activation, licensing, and hardware compatibility checks.
- Conduct post-installation verifications to ensure optimal software performance.
3. Training & Enablement
- Conduct structured training (individual/group, remote/on-site) on SOLIDWORKS Simulation and related workflows.
- Educate users on best practices, optimization techniques, and feature utilization.
- Promote adoption of latest versions and enhancements through knowledge sharing.
4. Pre-sales & Technical Consultation
- Partner with sales team during the pre-sales cycle to understand client requirements and provide live product demonstrations.
- Develop and deliver customized proof-of-concepts based on specific industry applications.
- Act as a technical consultant during client meetings, workshops, and evaluations.
5. Product Knowledge & Continuous Learning
- Stay up-to-date with SOLIDWORKS and Dassault Syst- mes offerings, tools, and updates.
- Contribute to internal knowledge repositories, including user guides, technical blogs, and training content.
- Evaluate and share insights on tools such as Ansys, Siemens NX, MATLAB, Simulink, etc. where applicable.

Key Skills & Competencies
- Mandatory: Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS Simulation
- Sound understanding of FEA, material properties, and mechanical design
- Hands-on knowledge of installation, licensing, and technical setup
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with experience in root cause analysis, DFMEA, 8D, DVP, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks and client engagements
- Willingness to travel within the Mumbai, Mumbai Suburbs and Navi Mumbai
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: SOLIDWORKS CSWA, CSWP (Simulation)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Production/Design Engineering or equivalent
- Experience with tools like Ansys (Fluent, CFX, ICEM CFD, Mechanical), Siemens NX, MATLAB/Simulink, Creo
- Familiarity with SOLIDWORKS PDM, 3DEXPERIENCE tools, and thermal/structural simulation
- Exposure to Lean Methodology, Contingency Planning, and CAE Validation
