Job Title: Plant Incharge
Location: Mumbai
Salary : Competitive & as per Industry Norms
Education Qualifications : Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
Reporting To: Operations Head
Experience : 5 - 7 years in O&M of sewage pumping stations or related water infrastructure; at least 2 years in a supervisory/incharge role.
Key Job Responsibilities:
1. Operations & Maintenance:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the sewage pumping station.
- Ensure smooth functioning of pumps, motors, valves, and control systems.
- Monitor and manage sewage inflow/outflow and pump performance.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and overhauls.
2. Staff Supervision:
- Supervise plant operators, technicians, electricians, and helpers.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance.
- Ensure safety and discipline among staff.
3. Compliance & Reporting:
- Maintain logs of pump run hours, flow meters, power consumption, and breakdowns.
- Ensure compliance with pollution control board regulations and local laws.
- Submit regular operational and maintenance reports to higher authorities.
4. Safety & Emergency Response:
- Enforce safety protocols and use of PPE.
- Conduct regular safety drills and training.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies such as equipment failure or flooding.
5. Inventory & Budget Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts, lubricants, and chemicals.
- Raise purchase requests and keep cost control measures.
- Assist in budget planning for operations and maintenance.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of sewage pumping systems.
- Mechanical & electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Leadership and team management.
- Record-keeping and report writing.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems (if applicable).
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, email, Excel).
- Emergency response preparedness.
Work Conditions:
- Rotational shifts may apply (if 24/7 operation).
- Field and control room-based work.
- Exposure to sewage and odor- strict hygiene and safety measures are a must.
