Assistant Manager - EHS - Construction (5-8 yrs)

An MNC firm is hiring an EHS Manager to be based at Mumbai/Pune Location . The right candidate for this position will have extensive experience in managing Health & Safety in large construction sites. He should be able to visualize risk associated during various construction activities and safety measures required to minimize those risk. He should be self-driven with excellent communication and motivation skill to drive safety initiative across the organization.

Main Responsibilities :

The right candidate for this position will have good experience in implementing Health & Safety at construction project sites. He should be able to follow the EHS framework and visualize risk associated during various construction activities and safety measures required to minimize those risk. He should be self-driven with good skill in managing multiple stakeholder, communicate and motivate team to drive safety initiative across the organization.

- Have good understanding of the EHS related Indian laws and its implication on the organization.

- Role holder will be overall responsible for ensuring that required EHS standards are followed at the construction site/sites. He will lead the implementation at the site to meet customer requirements.

- He will guide a team of designated safety officer posted at project sites and be responsible for regular audit, inspection to ensure that high level of Health & Safety guidelines are followed in all work-facets at the project site.

- He should be able to visualize various risk related to EHS in all the works being carried out and be able to provide required safety guidelines to be followed by Project team so to ensure zero-incident & near misses.

- Time to time conduct the training and awareness program on EHS for the site staffs.

- To develop plans to improve the safety standards at all levels.

- Introduce new methods of work to enable the project managers to control the H & S effectively.

- Develop and implement a training matrix to improve the knowledge of H & S.

- Ensure that all safety documentation is up to date.

- Audit projects periodically and report on the findings, implement improvement measures as required.

- Carry out due diligence on contractors for suitability to carryout contracts.

- Build good working relationships with all project stakeholders.

- Ensure that reports are done on time and any measures required are done in a timely manner.

- Must routinely and clearly communicate expectations, measurement and performance of the company safety culture to all employees.

- If need be, ready to travel to other project sites

Educational Qualification/Experience/Skills :

- Graduate (Preferably BE/B.Tech/ in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical) with Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety or equivalent

- 5-8 years of relevant experience in EHS at the construction project/MEP works

- Preferred IOSH or similar membership {Risk management is an advantage}

- Client facing and vendor management experience

- Experience working with Physical and Virtual teams

- Skill at managing stakeholder groups and balancing diplomacy and tact with assertiveness

- A strong customer centric approach

- Strong Communication skill (both written & verbal) and ability to drive EHS

- Have persistence to drive the EHS framework at the site

- Very good prioritisation skills to balance key priorities

- Willingness to travel (as and when required)
