Assistant Manager/Manager/Assistant General Manager - Technology Transfer - R&D - Personal Care (5-12 yrs)

1. JOB ROLE & INTERFACE MANAGEMENT:

- The Job description is for Technology Transfer Manager, a role managing transfer of innovations (in the area of Creams, Lotions, Soaps, Leave-ons and extended leave-on). The Manager - TT in the team will work on process development & technology initiative for above mentioned brands under the guidance of Group leader for the seamless deployment of the mix across the lead factories in the country. The Manager - TT shall also interface with the Factories in other countries and co-ordinate the scale-ups locally wherever pre-agreed with Brand Team. The current vacancy in Innovation Group is for Manager - Technology Transfer and reports in to Personal Care Technology Transfer Group Leader.

The Profile requires the candidate to be able to write specifications for new processes for all Innovation & Re-innovation in the portfolio. The job will be primarily focused on leading a Harmonization approach across the different manufacturing set-ups and processes, standardizing the same thereby significantly improvising the quality deliveries while managing the differences in Hardware designs.

The incumbent is also expected to manage trouble-shooting & Scale-ups for pertinent innovation and crucial projects. The Manager - R&D is also expected to have a fair understanding of P & ID, Engineering Drawing & Manufacturing Hardware involve in the processing of Cream & Lotions across the brands. The incumbent has to play a key role in mentoring and developing the skill-sets of Chemists working under him on formulation and processing challenges.

Process of Regular Quality and Process Compliance at lead sites that is up for Surprise reviews for compliances on the crucial parameters and CCPs. More importantly, the incumbent has to play a key role in developing the skill-sets of key R&D team members on processes with respect to formulation and processing challenges.

In general, the role requires the Manager - R&D to be responsible for specific processes and technology development and frequent interaction with Brand Managers, Supply Managers (SM-SC), Cat-Finance Manager & Regulatory + Legal Teams to deliver the innovations within the required performance, cost briefs. The candidate, during the course of innovation development will need to understand the evolving global trends on manufacturing techniques & tools that can be deployed to ensure compliance to internal development protocols e.g. Pilot Plant trials, Storage,(Championed by Analytical Team), Processibility, Safety & Environmental screening, RM specification development (Jointly with Formulation, Analytical Team) etc., Plan of Scale-up across Lead Site, Storage Evaluation - (Championed by Analytical Team) and Success Rating of innovation scale-up.

2. COMPLEXITY MANAGEMENT

Managing Innovation scale-up flawlessly in consultation with Group Leader including activities that need to be managed /transferred to R&D, Supply Chain including Supply Management, Regulatory etc.

Understanding & Managing Networks jointly with SC team for Transfer of Technology from Lab to Pilot to shop floor while ensuring compliance of activites on CCP of Network.

Managing compliance and delivery of documentations wrt project management and technical areas such as Specification freeze, formulation locks, and stability assessments jointly with Formulation Grp Leader respectively. etc

Conducting risk, HACCPS, Hardware gap analysis and legal compliance with local and country requirements (Exports).

Responsible for coaching, mentoring, developing team members working under him.

3. INNOVATION QUALITY

- Work with all functional teams (Design, Marketing, CMI, Supply Chain and Supply Management) within the Category

- Support specific cost saving programs related to process from Technology Transfer team.

- Interact with the Performance Assessment team, Analytical team and jointly create the claim support docket, specifications of RMs and FG, Processing specification, Brand Objectives for the product

- Ensuring the Quality of the Product being manufactured is compliant to the quality detailed in the Product Quality docket during the Innovation Transfer.
