JOB TITLE : Asst. Engg. - Utilities (Mechanical)

PURPOSE STATEMENT :

To ensure uninterrupted availability of all ancillary mechanical services for the unit, and implement systems in his areas of operation, reduce operating costs and achieve improved standards of quality and EHS.

DIMENSIONS :

Position : In charge of Utilities - Mechanical Or Electrical

Staff : Supervisor and operatives / Skills.

Planning & : Planning of the services requirement in line with

Reviews expansion / new machinery induction

Monthly performance reviews with the Branch Engineer & Branch manager,

Supplier / : Regular and frequent interaction with the contractors,

Vendor and vendors, regarding operations and maintenance outsourcing, spare parts supply and contracting.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY :

- Ensure availability of ancillary services - Mechanical, of the right quality and quantity.

- Ensure operation & maintenance of the services equipment in line with OEM recommendations & or industry best practices.

- Ensure value for money spent and excellence in quality of workmanship.

- Identify adequate training and development programs for his team members.

- To ensure that all statutory requirements, w.r.t. Pollution control, Weights and measures, Boiler Inspections and electricals complied with.

- Identify external resources / OEMs for outsourcing of the O & M, facilities management, where applicable.

- Identify, plan & implement energy conservation programmes in areas of responsibility.

- Identify, plan & implement EHS initiatives in areas of responsibility.

- To design and implement monitoring and control systems for in-house and outsourced processes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE - Indepth knowledge of operation and maintenance of infrastructural equipments, like boilers, DG sets, etc.

- Maintenance practices, such as, preventive, Predictive, condition monitoring, etc.

- Knowledge of unit's service requirements

- Knowledge of company EHS guidelines

- Knowledge of statutes and regulations

- Knowledge of best practices relevant to work responsibility

- Analytical & troubleshooting skills

EXPERIENCE - Experience in Power Plant, Ships, Process Industry in Maintenance / operation of varied utilities / infrastructure.
