Buyer/Senior Buyer - Procurement (3-8 yrs)

Job Description :

- Be accountable of the full Procure to Pay (P2P) management for 5-8 tanker vessels.

- Evaluate and improve supplier selection, considering total cost of ownership.

- Deliver the right goods at the fastest and most economical way, ensuring daily running costs are kept at minimum without jeopardizing operations.

- Ensure compliance 


Key Responsibilities :

- to framework agreements and practice catalogue buying, consistently educating and optimizing inputs received from requestors.

- Ensure selection of best offer through careful analysis of supplier quotations.

- Selection of best mode of transport offer through careful analysis of forwarder quotations.

- Timely and consistent handling and follow-up on orders and invoices in cooperation with suppliers, local agents and vessels.

- Ensure smooth coordination between regular stores, local goods and provisions deliveries to vessels when in ports.

- Constantly work with vessels to enhance the ordering behaviour through promotion of a cost mindset - instilling subjects such as master data, catalogues, frame agreements, demand planning, inventory management and proper utilization of key port ordering.

- Maintain and further develop positive performance driven relationships between key stakeholders in Maersk Tankers, hereunder, Technical, Operations, Chartering etc...

- In cooperation with Category Management, develop knowledge of Maersk Tankers global supplier base and establish relationships with key suppliers worldwide.

- Proactively and independently identify possible areas for improvement to reduce cost (e.g. payment terms, incoterms, delivery costs, process and logistical optimization) whilst keeping a vigilant eye on the overall process flow.

- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure availability of items and ensure smooth operation on board the vessels.

Who we are looking for :

- The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong drive and initiative. You are a good planner, analytical and commercially minded, with the ability to switch from detail oriented to a strategic view in an instance. You have relevant experience from similar positions related to the offshore industry.

- Educational background in business, maritime, engineering or supply chain with min. 4 years of supply chain or similar relevant experience from a multinational company.

- Excellent stakeholder manager who can build rapport even in challenging situations.

- High stress level, being comfortable handling numerous tasks within limited timeframes in a structured manner with eye for the detail level necessary.

Problem solver and proactive.

- Computer skills with knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. SAP or ShipNet) and MS Office in an advantage.

- Written and spoken English is a prerequisite.

Salary:INR 6,00,000 - 13,00,000 P.A.
