Superior Group is hiring for CNC Lathe Operators (1st shift 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM) in Yorba Linda, CA . Three months contract to hire opportunity.

Job Description:

- Make tool changes and general machine center requirements for proper operation of machines

- Maintains area cleanliness and safety

- Performs first article inspections as assigned or necessary

- Deploying quality inspection methods and techniques necessary to validate against blueprint requirements

- Perform all TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) requirements

- Critical Success Factor:

- Must be able to monitor one's own activity and identify areas that could improve in efficiency, thereby contributing to continuous improvement

- The focus of this position is to work towards gaining more experience and skills in basic setup to prepare for the next level as a CNC Operator III/Setup

Required Skills / Qualifications:

- High school minimum (college, technical, or trade preferred)

- Strong mechanical aptitude

- Basic knowledge of safety and hazardous material regulations

- Knowledge retention of FDA Quality System requirements ("Good Manufacturing Practices") and ISO 9001 requirements after training

- Basic CNC programming knowledge, enough to upload/download programs to machines

- Basic English proficiency at a High School level both in oral communications and reading comprehension- Ability to work directly from blueprints and drawings

- Technical skills to produce a finished screw machine part after the machine is set up.

- Ability to operate multiple types of machines

- Ability to perform a full set-up on one or more types of machines

- Capable of replacing tools, presetting tools in their holders, identifying tool condition (be able to assess when a tool is getting dull before it breaks)

- Able to make offsets
