Job description:
- Study commodity preferences in different regions of the country
- Develop grading system for commodities based on customer preferences
- Develop parameters by which the grades can be easily distinguished
- Train and develop an in-house team of quality inspectors
- Advise appropriately on commodity trends and budgets.
- Collaborate with and lead Commodity manager on required issues.
- Attend business meetings and keep updated on developments.
- Initiate and maintain external and internal communications.
- Develop plans for better negotiations and cost reduction.
- Determine and resolve commodity-related issues.
Skills Required:
- Thorough knowledge about varieties/identification of different vegetables+fruits
- Prior experience as fruits/vegetables vendors, or background in Mandis, grocery centers, agriculture (family background etc.) is a bonus
