Product Range Exposure: Plastic Auxiliary Equipment - Blending Systems, Conveying Systems, Drying Systems, Extrusion Support Equipment, Heat Transfer Units, Size Reduction/Granulators.

1. Role Summary

The Production Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end production operations related to Nu Vu Conair's industrial machinery, ensuring efficient assembly, quality, manpower management, and timely execution of production plans.

The role demands strong experience in assembly processes, production supervision, quality checks, in process inspection, PDI, and Lean/5S practices for a high mix machine manufacturing environment.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Planning & Execution

- Plan and execute daily production as per schedule for equipment such as:

- Gravimetric blenders (feeding & mixing systems)

- Material conveying & vacuum loaders

- Dryers, drying hoppers, desiccant systems

- Extrusion downstream equipment (sizing/cooling/cut off)

- Heat transfer units / Thermolators

- Granulators & size reduction systems

- Coordinate with Planning, SCM, and Design, Store Team, Dispatch & other Safety related teams for production readiness.

- Ensure material availability and component readiness for assemblies.

B. Shop Floor & Team Management

- Supervise a team of around 20 technicians/operators/helpers.

- Allocate work, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to work instructions & SOPs.

- Maintain discipline, daily productivity, teamwork, and ensure training of operators/technician/helpers for skill improvement.

C. Assembly, Process Control & Quality

- Oversee assembly activities for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

- Ensure precision assembly for equipment involving:

- Motors, blowers, heaters, sensors, pumps

- Electrical panels, wiring harnesses

- Vacuum lines, air piping, structural frames

- Implement In Process Inspection, PDI, and quality tools (7QC, RCA, CAPA).

- Ensure machine performance matches product specifications (airflow, drying efficiency, blender accuracy, conveying capacity, granulator throughput).

D. Process Improvement & Lean Implementation

- Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and waste reduction initiatives.

- Optimize assembly flow, reduce bottlenecks, improve cycle time.

- Support standardization of SOPs, jigs/fixtures, and assembly methods.

E. Production Reporting & MIS

- Prepare daily/weekly production MIS:

- Output, delays, rejection/ rework analysis

- Manpower utilization

- Machine readiness vs. plan

- Use MS Office, SAP/ERP, and digital production dashboards.

F. Coordination & Cross Functional Support

- Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, Design, and SCM for:

- NCR resolution

- Trial builds and test validations

- Engineering changes (ECNs)

- Support customer inspection, pre dispatch activities, test rig trials.

3. Skills & Attributes

- Strong supervision & team handling skills.

- Knowledge of assembly processes for electromechanical machinery.

- Understanding of quality tools, in process inspection, PDI, and machine testing.

- Good knowledge of MS Office, SAP/ERP, production MIS.

- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, 5S & continuous improvement.

- Ability to maintain strong shop floor relationships.

4. Academic & Other Attributes (Must to have)

- B.E. Mechanical with 4- 5 year's experience in machine manufacturing (preferred).

- Experience handling shop floor teams and batch type assembly operations.

- Familiar with industrial equipment similar to:

Dryers, Conveyors, Blenders, Chillers, Granulators, Extrusion support equipment.

- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
