Control Engineer/Technician - Plant Automation (3-10 yrs)

Position : Controls Engineer/Technician - Automation

Location : China

Client : US Based MNC manufacturing Steel Pipe Products, having Foundries in US & China

Qualification : B E or B S Degree with robotics or electrical controls

Experience :


- Minimum of three 3 years hands-on experience in equipment integration, automation, system controls and PLC programming.


- CAD design experience is preferred. Allen Bradley and or Siemens Controls Experience Required

Note : Please note that, candidate will be stationed in China for 15 months and then will move to USA.

Summary Description : Provide engineering support on automated equipment set-up, layout and controls design, component construction and process improvements. Share accountability for operator training, controls and process development.

Essential Functions :

- Analyze plant processes, design and implement improvements.

- Troubleshooting issues with hardware and processes.

- Plan preventative maintenance.

- Work with others to detect problems and implement solutions.

- Maintain quality and safety standards are upheld.

- Machine control programs to improve machine productivity and efficiency (i.e., PLC, robot motion code)

- Mechanical interfaces for functionality, durability, reliability and position accuracy (tooling points, etc.)

- Refine, upgrade and/or replace system components, sensors or fixtures as required to continuously improve performance

- Develop and maintain control system documentation for all system enhancements and C/A

- Review, create and/or update all OMS processes and set-up instructions

- Identify and support the implementation of automated equipment throughout the facility

- Perform formal and informal operator training to reinforce best practice

- Lead the development of PM schedules for new and existing machinery, fixtures, tooling and automation equipment

- Hands-on completion of PMs with necessary support from maintenance personnel, as needed; ensure equipment calibration and PMs are performed on schedule and that accurate records/repairs are recorded to establish statistical data that can be used for troubleshooting and effective predictive maintenance

- Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned.

Other Position Demands or Requirements :

- Must have strong communication skills with the ability to work with a wide variety of people, both shop floor and managerial, both inside and outside the company.


- Attention to detail in all aspects of the position is essential.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands :

- Works in climate-controlled office 40% of the time, 60% of time in factory/foundry environment exposed to heat, dust, fumes and noise of plant.


- Must wear protective safety gear as required in the plant.
