DCS OPERATOR - ALUMINA PLANT

Position: DCS Operator - Alumina Plant

Department: Operations / Production

Location: Chhattisgarh

Salary: Negotiable based on experience & competency.

Qualification & Experience: Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech - Chemical Engineering with Min 5+ years of hands-on experience as DCS / Control Room Operator in Alumina Refinery / Chemical / Continuous Process Plants.

Key Responsibilities:

1. DCS & Control Room Operations:

- Operate and monitor Alumina process units through the Distributed Control System (DCS).

- Maintain critical process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, levels, & concentrations as per SOPs.

2. Process Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

- Identify process deviations, alarms, and abnormalities through DCS trends.

- Perform first-level troubleshooting and inform Shift Incharge / Duty Officer promptly.

3. Safety & Compliance:

- Follow all process safety rules, SOPs, and control room discipline.

- Support implementation of LOTO and PTW during maintenance activities.

4. Production & KPI Support:

- Support achievement of shift-wise production and flow targets.

- Monitor area-wise KPIs displayed in the control room and operate the plant accordingly.

5. Coordination with Field Operations

- Maintain continuous coordination with field operators for equipment operation and condition monitoring.

6. Quality Monitoring

- Ensure product quality parameters are maintained as per defined standards.

7. Shift Handover & Takeover

- Ensure proper shift handover and takeover, including process status, alarms, pending jobs, and abnormalities.

8. Reporting & Documentation

- Maintain shift logbooks, DCS logs, alarm records, and production data accurately.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of Alumina refining processes

- Hands-on experience with DCS systems

- Ability to analyse trends and alarms

- Good communication and coordination skills

- Ability to work in rotating shifts
