Job Description :
- Reviews 3D CAD design blueprints.
- Makes calculations for programming including where materials should be cut.
- Translates instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
- Communicate and instructs operator who will use the program.
- Check completed programs by running simulations or tests.
- Prepare geometric layout of designs using appropriate software.
- Determine sequence of operations in a program.
- Choose appropriate cutting tools.
- Analyse job order and perform necessary calculations.
- Write programs and modify existing programs for increased efficiency.
- Analyse and select speed and cutting tools relevant for the programs.
- Make improvements in set up times for tasks and contouring of complex shapes.
- Simplify tooling time for workers and increase productivity.
- Evaluate all completed designs to validate their functions and ensure their accuracy.
