Deputy Chief Engineer (8-9 yrs)

Job Description :-

We are hiring a dynamic and experienced Deputy Chief Engineer to support the Chief Engineer in overseeing the complete engineering and maintenance operations of our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality engineering, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team to ensure safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

The role demands a proactive individual who can contribute to preventive maintenance programs, handle daily engineering issues, and support major renovation or expansion projects within the premises.

Key Responsibilities :

Operational & Technical Oversight :

- Assist the Chief Engineer in the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department.

- Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of HVAC systems, electrical panels, plumbing, kitchen equipment, elevators, and fire safety systems.

- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and maintain detailed records of all servicing.

- Identify and resolve technical issues swiftly to minimize downtime and guest discomfort.

Team Leadership & Training :


- Supervise, schedule, and train engineering staff and technicians.

- Delegate tasks and follow up to ensure proper execution and safety compliance.

- Evaluate team performance and foster continuous skill development.

Vendor & Contractor Coordination :

- Liaise with vendors, service providers, and contractors for AMC, repairs, and project works.

- Verify quality and timelines of outsourced services and manage service contracts.

Compliance & Safety :

- Ensure compliance with local regulations, fire safety norms, energy management systems, and other statutory requirements.

- Maintain updated records and documentation required for inspections and audits.

- Support safety drills, audits, and risk assessments.

Budget & Inventory Control :

- Assist in budget preparation and cost control for maintenance and CAPEX.

- Manage engineering inventory - tools, equipment, and spares stock.

Candidate Requirements :-

- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.

- Minimum 8+ years of experience in hospitality or facilities management; 2- 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

- Strong knowledge of building systems including MEP, HVAC, plumbing, BMS, etc.

- Familiarity with statutory compliance requirements and safety protocols.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

- Willingness to work in a dynamic, guest-facing environment.
