- The position is in the Production/Machine Shop and handles tasks related to production of highly precision parts for Aerospace Industries.

- Candidate must have practical & operational knowledge of CNC machining & programming, engineering principles, techniques & standards as used in the Engineering shop.

- The candidate must have knowledge of tools and techniques used for machining components, technical drawings, plans and models. 

- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality controls to assure efficient/effective manufacture of products is also required.

- Responsible for the manufacturing and/or assembly of components being made into finished goods within the shop includes production management, NPD, manufacturing engineering management, people management and continuous improvement reporting.

Role & responsibilities

- Lead the manufacturing function within budget and output targets to meet customer requirements and standards.

- Full accountability for ensuring Safety, customer Quality, Cost and Delivery (On Time Delivery) requirements are met.

- Responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible manufacturing engineering & production team by building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.

- Manage the team on best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading teams.

- Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.

Preferred candidate profile

- Diploma or bachelors in Mechanical /Automobile / Aerospace Engineering

- Should have 20 to 25 years in Manufacturing/Production.

- Written / Verbal English, Tamil will be an advantage

- Should have work experience in Leading Precision Machine/Manufacturing Companies having CNC machines

- Knowledge & Hands-on experience in CNC Machining to machine highly precision components.

- Knowledge & Experience in blueprints or specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances and program the required dimensions/profile in CNC turning/milling.

- Knowledge in Selection of Cutting Tools

- Knowledge & Experience in defining the manufacturing process.

- Knowledge in Work Holding/ Fixture Concepts to perform machining.

- Trouble shoot & manage the production team who reads machining instructions or blueprints to determine machine settings, fixtures, and tools to use, and part specifications, for example dimensions and tolerances.

- May also compute data & advise the team, for example component dimensions and machine settings, applying knowledge of shop mathematics.

- Recommends/ deep dive on the critical feature corrections on CNC machining Centre, machine setup to eliminate defects.

- Troubleshooting the issues in parts & fixtures during product development with production & manufacturing engineering team and during regular production runs.

- Experience in Aerospace part manufacturing is an added advantage.

- Understanding the Quality Requirements of Customer/Engineering Standards

- Knowledge in using Auto CAD/ any 3D modeling software if required AutoCAD/ Solidworks is an added advantage to design the process & fixtures.

- Knowledge in Production Planning/ Capacity Planning & Machine Load Planning to streamline productivity.

Leadership Skills: Candidate must be able to motivate employees to keep operations running smoothly.

Problem-Solving Skills: Candidate must be able to quickly ascertain a situation, take ownership of issues and be decisive in solving it.

Time Management: Candidate must have excellent time management skill to meet production deadlines, shipping dates and more.
