Job Purpose :

The Purchase Assistant / Deputy Manager is accountable and responsible to meet or exceed purchase objectives with respect to Quality (Vendor Quality), Cost Reduction (YOY), Timing (Speed in development of parts) and Resource Planning (People)

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities :

1. Accountable and responsible to contain the material cost at optimum level.

2. Active role in Supplier identification and selection for electronic components / EMS

3. RFQ, Quotes, comparative analysis, Approvals and PO release

4. Development timing plan finalization, PAPP lot coordination with Supplier Quality

5. Ensuring New parts cost within budget

6. Effective coordination with New Program Management team on cost, time & documentation

7. Take initiative to achieve material cost reduction year on year thro- negotiation, alternate sourcing, VA/VE proposals and localisation

8. To handle global suppliers across all regions

9. Thorough knowledge on costing of parts in order to arrive accurate level of estimation during initial quotes to customer

10. Should track commodity (copper & aluminum) movement in the market

11. Handle audits (external & internal) and conversant with TS & EMS

12. Have a good communication skill to interact both internally and externally with suppliers

13. Other duties assigned by management.

Key Performance Indicators :

1. Cost reduction (YOY)

2. Contain or reduce the material cost/tool cost of new programs against the target

3. No non-conformance in both internal and external audits of the processes

4. Reduce the vendor base by introducing good suppliers

5. Program material cost within CQF

6. Unique parts development within Program timeline

7. CQF completion within 3 days of BOM release from CBG

Min. Qualification- BE/ BTECH
