Job Description :

Position title : Design Engineer- Senior

Location : Sricity | Chennai

Work Schedule : General Shift, 5 days a week

Note - If the candidate is from Chennai he/she would have to visit Sri City office 2 days in a week as when manager asks them

Duties and Responsibilities :

- Sales and pre-engineering support for sales during RFQ stage

- Design and manufacturing review with sales and operations.

- Project Engineering - Datasheet review, customer spec review and other technical review.

- Preparation / review of TA drawings and manufacturing drawings.

- Preparation / review of Bill of materials - in ERP.

- Preparation / review of detailed manufacturing drawings.

- Prepare design (hand) calculations for the design development/ evaluation.

- Creation of Design Plan and review of design inputs and outputs.

- Manufacturing and field service support during assembly / commissioning.

- Make innovative changes in the existing product for improvements and easy manufacture.

- Responsible for on time delivery and quality outputs.

- Prepare the design documents and operation and maintenance manuals for the product.

- Attend meetings and conferences to develop knowledge and skills.

- Weekly reporting - project status and other Engineering and individual KPIs.

- Visit customer for resolving technical issues.

- Work with all locations worldwide to understand the identified product, and its design and engineering requirements.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements :

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from reputed colleges / universities.

- Good understanding on Control Valves Sizing and Selection and design.

- Good knowledge on actuator and accessories selection and design of pneumatic circuits.

- Familiar with ASME/EN / ANSI / BS/ API / IBR Standards Codes.

- Must have working knowledge of Solid works & AutoCAD.

- Must have experience in bill of materials and part number creation in ERP.

- Working knowledge on MS Office.

- Good knowledge on Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Metallurgy, material stress analysis (by hand calculation) and Machine Design.

- Must have good writing skills to prepare design documents and manuals.

- Must be willing to travel anywhere globally.

- Familiar with ISO 9001 requirements.

Educational Qualification :

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from good or reputed college

Work Experience :

- Minimum 7-12 years of design experience in control valve industry
