Design Engineer - Continuous Casting Machine (8-12 yrs)
Purpose
Design Engineer is responsible for design engineering and calculations of equipment of Metallurgy (Continuous Casting Machine) as per the technical specifications.
Scope & Function :
- Studying the Technical specifications and preparing key notes for pre-design phase. To understand the need of designs and prepare deviation list if needed.
- Perform basic design calculations of caster equipment
- Preparation of Layout & Basic engineering for equipment
- Checking of basic and detail designs prepared by designers
- Selection of bought out components
- Communication and co-ordination within team, team leaders, other departments, customers, suppliers
- Scheduling of activities of engineering for a project
Competencies required :
- Thorough knowledge of National & International Standards (EN, ISO, ASME etc.)
- Solid conceptual Knowledge on Strength of material
- Knowledge of Mechanical Design and related concepts
- Hand on experience on 2D AutoCAD and 3D (CREO, INVENTOR) is must
- Knowledge and familiarity with Welding & Machining Symbols
- Knowledge and familiarity with assembly processes.
- Knowledge and familiarity with of Fits/Tolerances, Geometric Tolerances and Dimensioning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Experienced at dealing with multiple activities with minimum direction
- People Management; able to handle a team .
