Design Engineer - GIS Projects (6-10 yrs)
Job Description :
1. Preparation of all Primary Engineering Deliverables. Experience in handling complete Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, preferred with Exposure to local & International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE.
2. Design & Drafting of electrical substation facilities including site and bus work layouts, earthing, foundations, controls & protection, metering, and equipment drawings for projects.
3. Substation layouts and section drawings preparation for tenders / projects based on customer specification / contract.
4. Basic understanding of secondary design aspects of substations, such as CT, VT Sizing, Protection & Control schemes, Interlocking, Telecommunication, etc.
5. Adequate understanding of auxiliary design aspects of substations, such as LVAC / LVDC supplies, Cable sizing, Battery & Battery Charger Sizing, etc
6. Prepare, review, and validate Bill of material for projects based on contract requirement.
7. Responsible for all design calculations related to Primary Engineering.
8. Grounding system design, drawings, and Bill of Materials.
9. Lightning system design, drawings, BoM and Lighting system design and BoM.
10. Technical data sheets verification of primary & Secondary equipment. Knowledge of primary equipment, such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc and Control & Relay panels, Substation Automation/SCADA systems.
11. FAT / SAT of primary equipment, system as and when needed.
12. Responsible for obtaining customer approvals for the designs and drawings.
13. Take part in customer meetings / site visits for tender/project clarifications.
14. Estimation support such as preparing conceptual drawings, Bill of Materials, preparation of Overall SLD, Equipment Layout and Cable routing layout for tenders.
15. Site visit for tender support as and when required.
Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, Experience :
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Years of experience : >6 years in Electrical field.
- Proficiency in required CAD design tools (AutoCAD)-Design & Drafting, Knowledge of relevant international standards ex: IEEE, IEC etc.
- Knowledge in substation design engineering activities & tendering support.
- Broad understanding of Protection and Control (P&C), SAS / SCS / SCADA, Metering, Telecom, Tele-protection.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and develop strong internal and external relationships.
- Working hours- flexibility to meet deadlines.
