Design Engineer - Mechanical (2-5 yrs)
Job Description:
1) Work on new projects from a given specification and/or product improvements
2) To generate GA and detail drawings and BOMs ensuring they are to agreed standards and within specification
3) Generate comprehensive component specifications
4) Re-designing existing products and new designs
5) To reduce product costs by re-designing existing designs to increase profitability including designing new components and/or assembly processes
6) To undertake and record calculations on studies to validate the design
7) Issue clear and comprehensive instructions for quality and production
8) To work with Development Technicians in producing and developing prototypes Production Engineering
9) Work with Test Technicians in developing tests and test rigs, ensuring effective records are instigated and maintained
10) Tooling and jig design for production and PDD products when requested
11) Assembly line layout/improvements when requested
12) Troubleshoot production engineering problems when requested
13) DCR (Design change request) - complete design change engineering requests
14) Amend incorrect engineering drawings and BOMs
15) To collaborate fully with Production Engineering on new launch product
16) To analyse and effectively record returns, rejects, applications and incorporate this into new designs create, draft and design product layouts and schemes using customer specification and recommendations.
17) Maintaining records as per QMS
