About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and execution of new product development (NPD) projects, contributing to the design, prototyping, and implementation of innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the successful launch of high-quality, cost-effective products.

Key Responsibilities:

- Actively participate in all phases of the NPD process, from concept to launch, contributing to design reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors based on quality, cost, and capability.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors, ensuring consistent quality, on-time delivery, and competitive pricing.

- Collaborate with the engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for cost-effectiveness, performing cost analysis and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.

- Develop and document manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring scalability and efficiency.

- Design, build, and test prototypes to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.

- Troubleshoot technical issues during development and production stages, developing and implementing effective solutions.

- Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and test reports.

- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality assurance.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process and design improvements.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

- 1-4 years of experience in a product development or manufacturing environment.

- Solid understanding of NPD processes and product development methodologies.

- Experience with vendor development and management is highly desirable.

- Proficiency in design software (e.g., CAD) and engineering analysis tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience with cost estimation and value engineering principles.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
