Position: DGM - R&D, Product Design

JOB LOCATION: BADDI, HIMACHAL PRADESH

Educational Qualification : B. tech Mechanical/Automobile

Experience : 15 years or above in Design and Development of Automotive industry

Profile Summary : Mechanical engineer with nearly 15 years rich experience in the areas of New Product Development, R&D, Process Engineering & Improvement, Proto part Development an in automobile components, Proficient in designing & developing new products and Strong domain knowledge on design and development of Axle, Shaft, Gear Box, Spindle, Snout, Track lock assmebly, Spools and locking Hubs components in conformance to pre-defined specifications Expert in resolving issues with 8-D, Fishbone, Impact mapping tools. Resourceful in heading overall operations for NPD working on several NPD projects with speed and quality to meet company deadlines and expectations Pivotal in managing engineering activities and executing new product development for the Axle, Shaft, Gear Box, Spindle, Snout, Track lock assmebly, Spools and locking Hubs, Testing & Validation segment for Global standards. Skilled at resolving customer issues by providing engineering support.

Job Description :

- Managing the entire product development including requirement analysis, finalizing specifications, validating designs and prototype development activities

- Facilitating new product development initiative with a key focus on Quality, Cost & Delivery developing components in conformance to pre-set technical specifications by the marketing team.

- Designing and implementing processes and procedures to facilitate the smooth functioning of overall production operations and execution of projects within the time & cost parameters

- Analyzing existing products & processes and re-designing the same for enhancing operational efficacy, reducing wastages and achieving maximum cost savings

- Maintaining a close relationship with Purchase Team, Quality, and Manufacturing and other department to facilitate tooling improvements

- Developing and negotiating with vendors for obtaining timely procurement of materials.

- Working with marketing and sales to build business cases and work on new products and for several Service Issues.

- Monitoring projects with respect to cost, resource deployment, time over-runs, quality compliance and manpower planning to ensure timely execution of projects

- Ascertaining overall operations for new products or improvement of existing products with thrust on reducing product cost and based on market trends/requirements

- Working on the cost estimation of the part and project for feasibility and approval process

- Preparing & executing the project development plan for all new models from different customers Coordinating with product development/customization functions including requirement analysis, finalizing specifications, designing, prototype development, and testing activities

- Formulating the general arrangement drawing, assembly drawings and part drawings

- Analyzing & producing the technical requirements and specifications & recommending design modifications based on client requirements

- Maintaining technical documentation and describing the specifications/usage of products

- Implementing project management and updating management on progress & status of the project during periodic project review meetings

- Executing all project cost control functions to ensure all projects are administered within budgeted cost parameters formulate an effective project plan template that can be utilized to schedule development, control & critical path analysis to ensure project milestones are achieved

- Cultivating strategy as a design engineer and pioneering the best design of products
