1). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

In addition to following WD Partners values, policies and procedures, the primary responsibilities of this position currently include, but are not limited to, the following :

Production (90%) :

- Prepare layout and drawings according to established design and drafting standards

- Access client drawings from CAD file database to work on assignments

- Document and save project work per established guidelines to ensure integrity of file management and quality of production

- Draft elements of production drawings using CAD software and based on prototype files, written direction or verbal input from Lead Role

- Perform basic development of engineering features including schedules, layouts, panels, details, etc.

- Ensure the plans are executed as per the drawing and client requirements

- Coordinate and collaborate with project management team regarding construction documents to ensure accuracy in meeting client specifications, site-specific criteria, and building code requirements

- Coordinate with Lead Role, other disciplines within project team, and (when applicable) external resources for project requirements

- Make revisions based on required adjustments per the Lead Role

- Seek supervisory assistance and clarification of ambiguities in scope

- Gather, compile and sometimes analyze project specific data; perform rudimentary design and calculations and conduct field surveys to verify as-built conditions and code compliance

- Develop project specifications with colleagues, often including those from other engineering disciplines

- Verify accuracy of the project information and measurements through site visit or information gathered by others

Project Workflow (10%) :

- Responsible for monitoring individual production hours v. budgets & deliverables

- Communicate with the Project Manager and other discipline leads on the status of your individual work as it relates to scope and milestones of a project's timeline

- Check project information listed in WDOnline to review status of the project deliverables.

2). KEY EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED : The following outlines many of the current significant requirements for this position. As our business evolves, these requirements may change to support our evolving business needs.

Minimum Experience :

- 4 - year Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, from an ABET accredited college or university program or Associates degree in or related technical field, or equivalent knowledge gained from education and/or work experience

- 4-6 years previous experience or co-op in Electrical Engineering

- Previous experience working in a team environment

- Engineering Intern (EI certification preferred for Electrical Engineering Associate)

- Functional Competencies at a Foundational / Intermediate Level

Uses Technology Appropriately :

- Working knowledge of technology - computer hardware, software, digitizers, plotters and associated peripheral equipment

- Proficiency in the current version of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Job Knowledge

- Ability to follow detailed architectural/engineering instructions with minimum oversight

- Working knowledge of architectural/engineering concepts

- With minimum supervision, prepares plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules and diagrams as directed

- Ability to collaborate and support multiple (3+) projects/week

- Work under multiple architects and design engineers direction

- Working knowledge in one or more client, project and construction type

- Should have experience in Designing and Execution

Regulatory Code Knowledge :

- Working knowledge w/ National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA

- Familiar UL, NEMA Standards, IES, ASTM and ADA

- Awareness of regulations, ordinances or statutory requirements of a government unit relating to building construction and occupancy

Inter-discipline Knowledge : Knowledge in two or more of the following areas : architectural, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and/or structural fields
