Profile - Electrical QC Engineer

Qualification - Diploma / B.Tech/ B.E / M.Tech - Electrical

Experience - Min.2- 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control for electrical systems, preferably in renewable energy, EPC, or manufacturing.Knowledge of electrical standards (IEC, IS) and testing methodologies.Experience with QMS, audits, and compliance documentation. Familiarity with digital tools/software for reporting and documentation.

Role Purpose:

The Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems, components, and installations meet Sunfan's quality, safety, and compliance standards. The role requires strong technical expertise in electrical engineering, hands-on inspection and testing skills, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain high-quality deliverables across projects. The engineer will also assist the HSE Manager in ensuring safety compliance and is expected to be tech-savvy, leveraging digital tools for documentation, reporting, and process improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

Inspection & Testing:

- Conduct incoming inspection of electrical materials (cables, switchgear, transformers, panels, etc.) against specifications.

- Perform in-process and final inspections of electrical assemblies, wiring, and installations.

- Carry out routine electrical tests such as insulation resistance, continuity, functional testing, and high-voltage tests.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

- Ensure adherence to IEC/IS standards, client specifications, and statutory safety requirements.

- Implement and monitor Quality Management System (QMS) procedures for electrical works.

- Support internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and compliance with documentation requirements.

- Assist the HSE Manager in enforcing safety protocols and ensuring site practices align with Sunfan's QHSE policies.

Documentation & Reporting:

- Prepare inspection reports, test certificates, and maintain calibration records of testing equipment.

- Track non-conformities, prepare corrective/preventive action reports, and follow up on closure.

- Maintain accurate records of approvals, quality logs, and compliance documents using digital tools.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

- Work closely with design, production, and project execution teams to resolve quality issues.

- Liaise with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors during quality checks.

- Provide technical support to site teams for quality-related matters.

Continuous Improvement:

- Identify opportunities for process improvements in inspection and testing methods.

- Recommend cost-effective quality solutions without compromising safety or compliance.

- Contribute to training initiatives for site teams on electrical quality and safety standards.

- Promote the use of technology for efficiency in reporting, monitoring, and compliance tracking.
