Electrical Substation Design Engineer (7-15 yrs)
- Lead design and engineering for GIS and AIS substations from 66kV to 765kV.
- Prepare equipment specifications, layout drawings, and perform critical calculations including short circuit forces, earthing, lightning protection, conductor sizing, CT/CVT sizing, and battery sizing.
- Develop and validate bills of quantities (BOQs) and system sizing requirements.
- Review vendor drawings and technical documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Support the design team in developing SLDs, general arrangements, cable schedules, and other key design documents.
- Coordinate with civil and mechanical teams for smooth project interfaces.
- Adhere to relevant international and national standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI) and applicable codes.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of all engineering deliverables.
- Provide guidance to the team on technical calculations and best practices.
- Engage effectively with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of EHV substation design standards and practices
- Proficiency in substation layout, busbar schemes, earthing, and cable routing
- Experience with AutoCAD; familiarity with ETAP and CDEGS preferred
- Good understanding of protection and control system interfaces
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
- Project management and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and guide junior engineers
