Electro Mechanical Engineer - Switchgear (3-5 yrs)

Summary :

Looking for an electro-mechanical engineer who has good knowledge in practical electrical engineering and has experience in MV switchgear product design & development in electrical industry.

Education : ME/M.Tech in Power system

Experience : 3 to 5 years

- Mandatory Minimum 3 year's experience in electric industry dealing with any products design and development preferably MV fault breaking products as per IEC 62271 standard.

- Desirable Experience in FEA simulation, basics of FEA & meshing, Iterative solutions, Electrical, electromagnetic and electro-thermal concepts.

Software Skills :

- Mandatory Should have working knowledge in Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D modelling software with product development knowledge from concept modelling to production ready BOM.

- Desirable Working experience in any one of the FEA simulation software like ANSYS, COMSOL etc

Skills & Experience :

- Basics knowledge in electro-magnetic and electro-mechanical concepts of product

design.

- Hands on experience in Design & the Development of any MV switchgear product as per IEC 62271 preferably vacuum based design.

- Hands on experience in designing the spring or actuator-based opening and closing mechanism for VCB or ACB.

- Working knowledge in designing medium voltage disconnecting switches or load break switches (both electrical & electro-mechanical design).

- Knowledge in Product life cycle management and NPD design stages as per industrial product design.

- Good knowledge in basic electrical, mechanical and electronics engineering.

- Basics of DFMA, DFMEA & PFMEA for manufacturing of products.

- Knowledge in international product standards IEEE, IEC & UL etc.

- Good understanding about different materials and practical usage.

- Knowledge in design tools like MCTO, VE, 6Sigma etc.

- Good communication skills, verbal as well as written in English.

- Ability to work with minimal guidance.

- Expertise in MS Office tools (Outlook, Presentation, Excel & Word) Supervisory

Responsibilities :

- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Role and Responsibilities :

- Interact with US clients to understand and gather project requirements.

- Generate conceptual 3D design, engineering calculations and detailed design using Autodesk Inventor.

- Converting the ideas into practically feasible product-oriented design.

- Validate the conceptual design integrity using FEA analysis.

- Deliver complete and accurate detailed design drawings as required for part manufacturing with GD&T.

- Create Drawings based on ASME Y14.5M - 1994 standards.

- Support for the electrical product testing with respect to IEEE standards.

- Generate documentation including design spec, part drawings, engineering bill of materials and assembly drawing per Hubbell standard.

- Working knowledge in Vault and SAP based engineering change management process.

- Knowledge on DFM and DFA is an added advantage.
