Role: Battery Hardware Design Engineer

Location : Bangalore, India

- We are seeking a skilled and innovative Automotive Battery Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems for automotive batteries, contributing to the creation of cutting-edge energy storage solutions for electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid vehicles.

Responsibilities :

- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for automotive battery packs, ensuring compatibility with vehicle architecture and performance requirements.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, materials scientists, and manufacturing experts to integrate mechanical design aspects into battery systems.

- Conduct feasibility studies and analysis for battery design proposals, considering factors such as thermal management, structural integrity, and manufacturing processes.

- Develop and implement design solutions that optimize battery pack performance, durability, and safety while meeting cost and weight targets.

- Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed 2D/3D models, conduct simulations, and perform tolerance analyses for mechanical components.

- Generate technical documentation, specifications, and reports related to mechanical design, test results, and validation procedures.

- Participate in design reviews, prototype testing, and validation activities to ensure adherence to quality standards and performance goals.

- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in battery materials and mechanical engineering to enhance design methodologies and processes.

Requirements:

- Bachelor- s/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

- Proven experience (X years) in mechanical design, preferably in the automotive or energy storage industry with a focus on batteries.

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.) for creating detailed designs and simulations.

- Strong understanding of thermal management, stress analysis, materials selection, and manufacturing processes relevant to battery systems.

- Ability to work in cross-functional teams, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.

- Problem-solving aptitude with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to design challenges.

- Familiarity with relevant regulations, safety standards, and quality control processes in the automotive industry is a plus.
