Functional Area : Generating Station of the Company

Main Purpose of the Job

To manage the power generation process during the shift, achieving shift performance targets of production, cost, safety and statutory compliance as well as protection of assets

Key accountabilities

-Uninterrupted generation of power as per system demand

- Auxiliary consumption within norms

- Safety of main plant during emergency situation

- Consumption of LDO, Coal within norms (Oil figure & coal figure)

- Maximising PAF / PLF

- Zero or minimum Safety NCRs.

- Condition monitoring schedule adherence

- Thorough knowledge about process of coal based thermal power plant

- Conversant with DCS operation

- Handling of emergency and critical situations with accuracy and speed

- Sound understanding of grid system and inter-related impact

This Role Reports to : Manager (Operations)

Brief Role Description

- Maintaining the load on the generator, monitoring fluctuations and taking corrective actions.

- Deciding release of equipment for maintenance in consultation with Shift Charge Engineer

- Monitoring and controlling process parameters

- Verifying plant equipments as per standard checklists and identify defects and maintenance requirements.

- Handling start-up and shut-down during planned and forced shutdowns.

- Updating the log book in each shift.

- Performing condition monitoring of critical equipments

Experience 4 - 6 years of Post Educational Qualification in reputed Companies with experience of operating minimum unit size of 250 MW

Education

The candidate must have an excellent academic record with at least 70% in Class X, Class XII and Engineering Examination. The candidate should be an Electrical / Mechnical / Power Plant Engineering Graduate either from

Jadavpur University or IIEST - Shibpur (erstwhile BESU) or NIT or IIT

Salary:INR 7,50,000 - 9,00,000 P.A.
