Job Description

About the role:

The Engineering Head - Electrical will lead and control all electrical engineering activities across EPC and renewable energy projects. The role is responsible for electrical system design management, technical approvals, grid compliance, and execution support, ensuring safe, reliable, and timely delivery of electrical works in line with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Lead the electrical engineering function across generation, evacuation, substations, and balance-of-plant systems.

- Define and implement electrical engineering standards, design philosophies, and best practices.

- Review, approve, and control electrical designs, drawings, calculations, SLDs, layouts, specifications, and BOQs.

- Ensure compliance with grid codes, statutory regulations, and safety standards.

- Manage engineering interfaces between electrical, civil, mechanical, SCADA, and protection disciplines.

- Support project and site teams in resolving installation, commissioning, and system integration issues.

- Oversee protection schemes, relay coordination, metering systems, and SCADA integration.

- Support grid connectivity, synchronization, charging, and commissioning activities.

- Drive value engineering and cost optimization initiatives without compromising safety or reliability.

- Coordinate with OEMs, consultants, utilities, and third-party inspectors.

- Prepare engineering progress reports, technical risk assessments, and updates for senior management.

- Mentor and develop electrical engineering teams and successors.

Required Skills:

- Strong expertise in HT/LT systems, substations, power evacuation, protection and control, and SCADA.

- In-depth knowledge of CEA regulations, DISCOM / SLDC requirements, grid codes, and IS/IEC standards.

- Hands-on experience in design management, site execution support, testing, and commissioning.

- Proficiency in electrical design and analysis tools such as ETAP, CYME, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
