B. Tech / M. Tech or equivalent, in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline, from reputed Institutes / Universities.

- The position requires 18-20 years of experience in Engineering Managerial functions (Chemical / Oil & Gas) of reputed Engineering Consultants.

- Working experience in Engineering Managerial function of major Chemical, Petro Chemical, Oil & Gas industries is essential.

Candidate must have experience in engineering into multi discipline

Job Description - JOB PURPOSE:

- Shall be responsible for providing technical support during various phases of new projects (site based, brownfield & greenfield).

- Shall be responsible for planning and directing engineering support for all engineering disciplines and guidance on Design HSE Reviews, Constructability Reviews, Operability Reviews, Maintainability Reviews, Capital Project Evaluation and Environmental / Safety initiated project work for existing plants, in an accurate and timely manner.

DIMENSION OF THIS ROLE:

- Around 12-15 Discipline Leads shall report to the incumbent. Each Discipline Lead shall lead a team of Discipline Engineers & Designers. The entire team size below each Project Manager shall range from 50 to 75 engineers.

- Shall participate in ensuring the quality output of all engineering discipline deliverables of around simultaneous 6-10 small & medium sized projects initially & gradually graduating to managing large projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Engineering Manager shall be responsible for but not limited to, the following:

- Provides engineering support for new projects including due diligence reviews, development or review of screening studies and feasibility reports, development or review of equipment and EPC bid packages, and development or review of equipment and EPCM proposals, including scope, pricing, performance, schedule and commercial terms.

- Manages internal project support efforts with engineering, operations, regulatory, accounting and environmental departments.

- Manages external technical interfaces with consultants, subject matters experts, owners and Client engineers and other technical experts.

- Highly proficient with all International Design Codes & Standards applicable for Petrochemical / Chemical projects. Experience of local codes applicable in the Gulf countries shall be an added advantage.

- Directs activities to modify existing designs, improve production techniques and develop test procedures.

- Works with EPC contractors and equipment suppliers to obtain third party project estimates.

- Responsible for selection of plant and equipment configuration during the development phase of projects.

- Responsible for development of project design specifications.

- Provides technical support to the field staff for projects under construction, including engineering design reviews of control documents prepared by EPC contractors to ensure all EPC contract obligations have been met.

- Responsible for the execution of engineering related activities including planning, establishing work processes, monitoring performance, managing interfaces, troubleshooting problems and providing timely, accurate, and complete reports as required by the project and company management.

- Set goals and priorities for improving the skills and overall Process and Plant Engineering capabilities of the Business Unit.

- Participate in Proposal and Project Kick-Off Meetings.

- Effectively hire, train, develop, and appraise engineering staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with Company policy. Consult with Human Resources as appropriate.

- Responsible for acting on engineering matters pertaining to the projects or designated large engineering assignments.

Key Technical Skills Required:

- Possess a broad understanding of each engineering disciplines and Project procedures.

- Possesses a general understanding of engineering administration.

- Should have worked as a Engineering Manager minimum for 8 years.

- Effective engineering management & leadership skills.

- Experience as a Engineering Manager with responsibilities for overseeing Petrochemical / Chemical Plant Engineering, Procurement and executing operational plans to promote performance, reliability, safety, and compliance.

- Experience providing leadership and strategic perspective in managing a project including metrics and systems to address performance of operational and capital expenditures.

- Experience in the development of design basis documents, design criteria, calculations, and construction bid specifications/drawings in accordance to budget and performance expectations.

- Experience identifying and implementing quality control procedures and standards for engineering of projects.

- Experience preparing and managing completion of work within the target man-hours.

- Effective computer skills; Various discipline engineering software applications especially Smart Plant Modules for all disciplines, Smart Plant Review, MicroStation, etc. Microsoft Office Software, Microsoft Outlook, and other Company and discipline specific software applications. Knowledge of MS Project / Primavera tool would be an added advantage.

Working Days - 6 Days a week ( 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM )
