Estimation Engineer - Pumps/Motors/Vessels/Boilers (4-8 yrs)
Job Summary:
The Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing cost estimates key fabricated equipment for Refinery Plant, Fractionation, Hydrogenation, Oleo Chemical, Bio Diesel, and Solvent Extraction Plants for both domestic and international projects. The role requires collaboration with workshops, and internal departments to ensure accurate and competitive costing.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtain quotes from designated workshops for proprietary fabricated vessels (Pressure vessels, Columns, Hopper, Ducts).
- Revalidate prices with workshops/vendors for similar equipment to maintain cost accuracy.
- Conduct internal estimations for critical equipment such as Deodorizers, Bleachers, Reactors, Columns, Atmospheric Tanks, etc.
- Update standard pricing for Mobilizer, Winwax Filter, and Sublimator regularly.
- Perform weight estimations for critical equipment to assist in layout planning.
- Work closely with the Proposal/Sales Manager to understand requirements and provide accurate estimates.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong experience in estimating storage tanks, cylindrical vessels, pressure vessels, reactors, crystallizers, heat exchangers, pumps, boilers, gearboxes, and geared motors.
- Understanding of fabrication processes such as plate cutting, rolling, dish-end formation, welding, drilling, machining, and material testing.
- Knowledge of Vacuum Systems, Packing Materials, Geared Motors.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings, general assembly drawings, plant layouts, process & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
- Familiarity with piping codes and standards like ANSI, ASME, DIN, EN.
- Knowledge of pipes, fittings, valves, and other piping accessories.
- Experience with static and dynamic equipment used in process plants.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in estimation, fabrication and cost optimization within the process plant
industry.
