Position Overview:

As an Estimator, you will be pivotal in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects. By gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and other essential documents, you will analyze rates and bill quantities to determine project budgets. This role requires a strong proficiency in AutoCAD, an excellent ability to read detailed drawings, and a sharp eye for cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare work for estimation by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

- Perform detailed analysis of drawings and specifications to determine overall project costs.

- Utilize strong AutoCAD skills and drawing interpretation abilities to assist in the estimating process.

- Research, source, negotiate, and obtain the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.

- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by examining bids and project documentation.

- Maintain and manage a cost database by entering data and ensuring reliable backup.

- Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

- Conduct site visits to gather additional project-specific information.

- Stay updated with the latest construction technologies to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency.

- Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying both numerical and descriptive information.

Key Skills Required:

- Proficiency in AutoCAD

- In-depth knowledge of DSR (Detailed Schedule of Rates)

- Expertise in rate analysis and cost evaluation

- Strong market cost survey skills to stay competitive

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as an estimator in construction or a related field.

- Technical education in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.

- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
