The Procurement Specialist role involves overseeing the end-to-end procurement process in a steel pipe manufacturing company, including vendor identification, negotiation, contract development, and performance evaluation. The specialist is responsible for optimizing costs, managing relationships with suppliers, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the organization's supply chain operations. The role requires a strategic approach, strong negotiation skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Responsibilities:

- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for the procurement of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and all other items required for manufacturing and maintenance.

- Engage in effective contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring a reliable and efficient supply chain.

- Oversee inventory levels, track usage patterns, and implement measures to prevent stockouts while minimizing excess inventory.

- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that procured materials and equipment meet specified standards.

- Maintain accurate procurement records, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

- Conduct thorough analyses of procurement decisions, considering long-term benefits and overall cost-effectiveness.

- Contribute to the development and execution of procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Skills:

- University graduate holding a valid degree.

- Proven experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on steel or related industries.

- At least 4 years of experience within a steel industry.

- Conversant with international trade and business processes.

- Knowledge of material codes and specifications.

- Fluency in English.

- Excellent negotiation skills especially in dealing with multinational Sales/ Marketing professionals.

- Detail-oriented and organized with excellent time management skills
