Role & Responsibilities :

- Conduct Seasonal Research on Fashion Trends and stay up-to-date with forecasted trends.

- Research on new fabric development and fashion trend and prose to design team for new concept Maintain and expand wide sourcing network

- Assist in evaluating prospective fabric sources and develop action plans to bring these to acceptable quality, environmental and safety standards

- Train and develop the fabric/material team expertise on fabric related matters

- Review and evaluate the performance of fabric mill and propose changes whenever necessary

- Negotiate with supplier for cost, agreement, quality and other production issues

- Source, research and develop fabric and communicate to Design Team including; actual samples, costing, lead-times and all other required information

- Ensure follow up with vendors to meet calendar deadlines surrounding fabric and trim development and bulk lead-times. Explore/Develop options for Quicker turnaround with lower minimums than market lead-time

- Creating access with ready stock fabric vendors in India & Overseas

- Coordinating with design team/sales team for the forecast of each new SKUs doing online on website and arrive with procurement plans

- Consistently run attribute reports and know current sales, manage on-hand stock and on-order lead time for critical attributes

- Analyzing the Fast Moving fabric / Slow moving stock / Obsolete stocks & take appropriate actions in order to maintain optimum inventory carrying cost

- Timely communication with vendors for fabric and trim sourcing to help the production run smoothly.

- Analyze & study(with retail & category team) weekly and monthly sales reports to constantly improve hit rate.

- Attend follow-up meetings for all products and manage workload accordingly.

Should Have :

- Ability to work well within a team to create the best product that is customer-focused.

- Must have a keen eye for detail with excellent creative & aesthetic skill.

- Technical knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.

- Strong Computer skills: Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel.

- Strong Technical Skills: ability to generate full technical specs to be sent to vendors for production.

- Clear communication with vendors for timely sourcing.

Desired Experience and Skills :

Education : Graduated from Fabric/Textile or Fabric Technology or equivalent

Years of Experience : 2-5 years

- At least 2 years' experience in fabric, garment/textile design or fabric production and development.

- Experience in fabric allocation, ordering & tracking and product development.

- Good understanding of apparel

- Knowledgeable and up to date with latest fabric industry developments/production
