Facade Design Engineer/CAD Designer (0-5 yrs)
About the Role:
We are looking for a Facade Design Engineer / CAD Designer to assist in design and coordination of building facades and curtain wall systems. This role offers a great learning opportunity under senior engineers, where you can grow your technical skills in facade engineering, CAD drafting, and project coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in design engineering for facades and steel structures under senior guidance.
- Prepare 2D CAD drawings for shop drawings, curtain wall layouts, and material schedules.
- Support project coordination and administrative tasks.
- Participate in design meetings with architects and provide engineering inputs.
- Assist in preparing detailed facade tender packages.
- Coordinate with architects, clients, engineers, and project leads to update drawings.
- Help develop facade system details based on architectural concepts.
- Track submission timelines and ensure timely delivery of drawings and documents.
- Manage and maintain internal drawing documentation and version control.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering, or Building Design (Architectural).
- Basic knowledge of CAD drafting (AutoCAD or similar).
- Academic exposure or interest in facade or curtain wall design is a plus.
- Familiarity with 3D tools (Rhino, SketchUp) is advantageous.
- Understanding of Parametric tools (Grasshopper, Python) is a bonus.
- Exposure to BIM tools or willingness to learn quickly.
- Basic knowledge of materials such as steel, aluminum, and glass.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Strong communication skills- verbal and written.
- Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Eager to learn, adapt, and grow in a technical design role.
