To plan, lead and ensure maximum uptime of the plants vide providing expertise in the field of Mechanical Installations in the plant.

- To establish the Benchmark Mechanical Engineering practices, involving all the team members & thereby developing the systems & people.

Maximum uptime of Mechanical system, to support the plant Operation; improvement year on year - To lead the establishment of good Mechanical Engineering practices & monitoring the effectiveness using IMS & SAP.

- Provide the electrical engineering expertise for maintaining, upgrading, and modifying the Mechanical equipment.

- Assisting in supervising Mechanical maintenance contractors; strategic planning for future modifications, and upgrades and plant expansions.

- Assisting the plant team to develop and maintain the Maintenance system documentation in an electronic format that is accessible to the site Mechanical team.

- Develop and implement energy/cost savings initiatives.

- To prepare MTTR/ MTBF of Mechanical machines.

- Assistance in retrofitting & commissioning.

- To authorize the countermeasures suggested & review the effectiveness of counter measures taken for critical/ repetitive problems, using 7 QC tools.

- To work for continual improvements into IMS; working within IMS domain only.

- IT enablement of processes.

EHS And Statutory Compliance

- Percolating the need of EHSQ at the highest priority in whatever we do.

- To lead the establishment of Benchmark EHS practices in Mechanical Engineering.

- Guidance in Compliance to all statutory standards using live IMS documents, for all Mechanical Installations.

Establishment & sustenance of TQM practices

- To lead & guide TQM practices (e.g. Problem solving, 5S, Benchmarking etc.) in the dept. with help of Head TQM &/ or Engineering Head.

- Preparation of Monthly report on Functional Expert - Mechanical Engineering.

Self and Subordinate Development on a continual basis

- To identify, plan and facilitate domain and managerial training to the individuals in order to develop the new skills in the area of Mechanical Engineering.

- B.E. / B. Tech. - Mechanical

- 15 To 20 years of experience in all kind of benchmark maintenance practice of Chemicals/ Fertilizers / Petrochemicals Plant.

- Min 3 years of experience as Deputy Head of the department.

- Current working as Head of Department would be desirable.

- Sound Technical Knowledge of Benchmark Maintenance practices on Plant machineries.

- Sound knowledge on Rotary equipments, e.g. Compressors, Pumps, Rotors etc.

- Sound knowledge on fabrication process, welding, cutting etc.

- Knowledge of Engineering Standards

- System orientation

- Planning before execution

- Knowledge on applicable statutory requirement.

- Knowledge on IMS.

- Knowledge & use of 7 QC tools is desirable.
