GE - Environmental Health & Safety Leader (10-12 yrs)

Role Summary / Purpose :

- The EHS Leader is responsible for providing technical EHS support to comply with all regulatory and industry requirements applicable to GE Transportation.

- The EHS Leader should be experienced in implementing all the Local Regulatory & Statutory and GE requirements related to Green Field project and Ope-rationalize programs supporting the business strategy. This role will partner with OneEHS Global Operations Regional team & report directly to the Plant Manager.

Essential Responsibilities :

- Serve as an Environment Health & Safety expert for all applicable regulatory (i.e. Factory Acts, OSHA, BOCW act, Petroleum Rules and Regulations, SMPV, Local State PCB etc.) requirements & global industry standard (i.e. ANSI, NBC, ASME NFPA, etc.)

- Primary responsible to put a program for construction of a large industrial Green Field Project, Prior experience in executing large project will be preferred.

- Lead team in operating with a high level of efficiency, integrity and enthusiasm, striving to achieve excellence in all endeavors and provide adequate guidance and managing key High Risk areas which includes crane safety, construction safety, fall prevention, Pressure Vessels, Electrical, Gas Safety, STP & ETP etc.

- Ensuring 100% compliance with all policy, procedures with all defined legal requirements, implementing GE EHS programs, meeting business expectations and ensuring continuous improvement;

- Engage and influence leadership to achieve organizational objectives in matrix organization

- Sustain a world class EHS program and safety culture

- Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects and other responsibilities, adjust to changing priorities and to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on available information

- Manage key performance Indicators (KPI) for the region and drive necessary efforts to achieve them

- Lead incident investigations and drive closure of effective corrective/preventive actions

- Analyze trends and performance, provide routine feedback, and drive actions to improve performance

- Assure 100% completion of training, audits and other compliance aspects at the location

- Interface with all environmental, health and safety regulatory agencies in order to assure compliance with local laws, permits and regulations

- Routine data entry and management, writing and updating EHS procedures and miscellaneous office tasks supporting EHS programs. Utilize Gensuite tools where applicable.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with leaders and peers to achieve specified objectives

Qualifications / Requirements :

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Occupational Safety / Industrial Safety Engineering

- Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in successful EHS program implementation and worked in Green Field Projects

- Strong knowledge of India related regulatory requirements

- Excellent leadership, project management skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to communicate using English (and local state language)
