General Manager - Automotive Designs (10-25 yrs)
Job Summary :
- Leading a design team of members responsible for Design deliverables of exhaust systems of light vehicles
- Set the objectives of the team and each designer
- Ensures to measure the competency and provide necessary training
- Set the quality procedures and ensure effective implementation to achieve set targets of kpi and customer delight
- Engineering and Design Development process Preparation.
- Employee Engagement & Retention Lead for the entire unit.
- To save the cost of company through engineering cost saving proposals in interiors /Exterior Trims & Seating.
- Out Sourcing Strategies - Based on Projects Priorities, Available resource develop a strategy to execute the Projects.
- Make strategies which can be very flexible and appreciated by Group HOD interms of resource planning
- Key contributor in development of modular seating, Steering Wheel, Modular Gear Shifter Knob, Corporate Grab
- Handles and HVAC systems which can be used in multiple vehicle platforms
- Cross Skill Development Lead for Road map preparation & execution - Trims, BIW, E&E, Chassis and VI
- New Vertical & competency Development - Safety Restraints Systems ( Seat Belts, Front Air Bags, Inflatable Curtain Airbags), PLM data release group, Tooling Group, Engineering Program Management
- Trims Strategy Development - Long Tem, Medium and Shot Term
- Competency/Skill Mapping of all employees with Development plan in line with the Department Strategy.
- Take Productivity Improvement Initiative ( Organic & Inorganic) Tools
- File Patents On innovative projects
- Employee Cross Skill Training - Improved work flexibility and employee retention.
- Spearheading the Exhaust system design and development activities to meet the customer targets and value engineering with a team of members.
- Developing quality management system by monitoring inputs, in-process and final inspection of procedures, records & documentations
- Formulating processes to ensure smooth establishment of product commercially.
- Involved in evaluating vendor performance to ensure smooth supply of quality products
- Reviewing & inspecting non-conforming design and initiating requests for corrective and preventive action
- Taking stringent quality measures including preparation of necessary documents to ensure compliance with above standards & customer requirements
- Reviewing and measuring of competency levels of designers in terms of technical skills
- Documenting the lesson learnt from previous program and ensuring implementation
