General Manager - Hardware Design (10-30 yrs)

Qualification (Technical & Behavioral) :


- 15+ years of experience in embedded HW development (V cycle activities)

- Min. 10 years in Auto R&D/ Design centres / OEMs or Tier1 EE part suppliers.

- 2-5 years in EE parts development with international working condition.

- Min. 3 years of experience as Head, handling 3 -6 HW Managers & should have handled a team of 50+ engineering team members

- Good experience in vehicle management and project/product management - Excellent Communication and Customer/Team Handling Skills

- Skilled in Planning &Execution, Problem Solving & People management

- Involved/ Lead CFT activities in OEMS/TIER 1 Suppliers leve

Technical Skills :

- Experience working in hardware design and development of automotive products 

- Instrument cluster / Driver Information System, Driver Assistance system, Audio / Infotainment system/BCM 

- Experience in In-vehicle networking based on CAN, LIN and Flexray

- Experience in design and development of automotive products meeting Functional Safety (ISO26262) requirements

- Work with other Engineering Functions, Manufacturing, Procurement and Quality to develop a manufactural and reliable product.

- Sound experience in 16bit/32bit microcontroller/processor based Hardware Architecture. - Excellent understanding of Engineering Principles, Methodologies used in Hardware design and development

- Experience working with 16/32 bit microcontrollers and microprocessors - NXP / Infinenon ( Cypress) - / Renesas

- Excellent Hardware & Software Debugging skills

- Experience working on various on board communication methods - UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, Microwire 

- Good knowledge in TFT interface.

Mandatory Skills :

- Practical Experience in designing automotive products complying to EMI/EMC standards 

- Practical experience in designing Analog & Digital Circuits

- Excellent experience in Microcontrollers / Processors (16bit/32bit) based hardware design and development

- Experience in Power management circuitry

- Experience in firmware development for 16bit/32bit microcontrollers/processors 

- Good knowledge in High Speed PCB design.

Tools and Hardware Skills :

- Hands on experience with Hardware design tools like Altium / Orcad /Cadence Allegro - Hands on experience with Simulation tools like Multisim / Pspice

- Ability to assess the impact of Hardware with respect to the Software changes. 

- Hands on experience with Tracing the signals at test points to conform the functionality of software driven I/Os using Oscilloscope, logic analyzer and multi-meter.

- Experience in Firmware: Embedded C/C++; MISRA; RTOS;

- Experience in Process (CMMI / Autospice) engineering practices implementation Project Management experiences and tools

- Experience in using Ms-Office, Ms-Project/ Open-Project, Visio

- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills

- Ability to work as team player and team leader

- Lisoning with various internal and customer stake holders during design/development and sample building

Desired Leadership skills/responsibilities :

- Experience in Setting vision/mission and objective of the hardware team based on Business Unit financial goal and technology goals.

- Experience in budgeting and monitoring the spending effectively

- Create short term and long-term strategy for - HW Engineering Team- in line with department/organization strategy and product road map

- Sound experience in working with Vendors/Engineering service providers and effectively tracking the deliverables

- Achieve project QCT (Quality, Cost and Time) targets and OTD, FTR target % in all the milestones.

- Review dashboard and metrics of the teams periodically and take preventive/corrective actions. Improvement plan definition and tracking to closure.

- Create and Manage resource allocation as per the need of the project delivery/milestones

- Team management and effective tracking experience

- Motivate and guide the team to surpass individual KPI targets

- Skill assessment for next level managers, Leads & team members

- Schedule the training plan as per the skill GAP of the individual members/ Project requirement. 

 - Project Management: Microsoft Project Planner, V Cycle based development process /Agile methodology/SCRUM, Bug Tracker tool, SVN etc..

- Cohesive working with cross function team/manufacturing plant/service providers

- Excellent customer management skills
