PRINICIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure maximum running of all the machinery with full efficiency.

- Plan for machinery maintenance schedules for all equipments and carry out various planned repairs, well in advance.

- Coordinate with other departments such as electrical, instrumentation, production, quality control and civil for carrying out repairs within the minimum possible time.

- Monitor all the costs pertaining to mechanical dept. and ensure same is within the limit.

- Ensure best standards of house keeping in the plant.

- Keep the pollution control equipments always in operation; maintain pollution parameters within the norms.

- Develop indigenous items for all imported spare parts.

- Prepare plans for modernisation and capital investment for improving the productivity and profitability.

- Ensure proper records are kept as per the system designed and implement in area of operation.

- Exercise control on overtime payments and ensuring that the amount is within the limits sanctioned by the management from the time to time.

- Give personal attention on break down repair jobs

- Give personal attention to the maintenance and repairs of gearboxes and drives.

- Keep the close watch/control cost of consumption of consumables.

- Responsible for planning of maintenance.

- Prepare budget, monitor inventory, min./max. List etc.

- Coordinate with purchase dept. for procurement of spares.

- Implement executive appraisal system as directed by the management.

- Provide all necessary assistance and guidance to the officers and staff in properly performing their functions, duties and responsibilities.

- Train sub ordinates for improving their skills.

- Responsible for the staff matters of the sections assigned.

- Discharge any other responsibilities assigned by management from time to time

- Ensure all the safety practices are followed by the workers, while handling tools and tackles and industrial gases.

- Responsible for Packing cost of loading, maintenance cost and cleaning cost of packing plant.

- Develop - Code of Practices- for carrying out repair of various equipments in the plant and ensure their implementation.

- Implementation of IMS - QMS/EMS/ OHSAS system, safety rules and norms.

- To maintain proper housekeeping in the plant
