General Manager - Supply Chain Management - FMCG (15-25 yrs)

Requisites :

- Someone from FMCG / Distribution background

- With experiences of having managed 2-4 large warehouses, 25+ Sourcing locations, 40-50 Distributors, Channels like LFS, Ecom & Company Stores etc

- Sound in SCM Models, Financial understanding, Cost Management, Vendor Negotiations, IT, Operating processes etc

Job Purpose :

- Developing a supply chain strategy and defining the organizational structure including roles and responsibilities to support divisional goals.

- To develop strategic and operating plans to ensure that the company has the appropriate resources to Support current business and projected growth; to communicate resource plans to gain consensus from Sales & marketing, Supply Chain, Purchase & Logistics and Manufacturing that respond to current and expanding markets,and to develop Manufacturing/Distribution models to determine and validate business strategies .

- To optimize operations performance, decrease process and logistics cost, minimize inventory, streamline order fulfillment.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Financial :

- Defining and streamlining the planning methodology based on sales demand resulting in reduction of overall purchasing cost.

- Controlling and monitoring the throughput cost, which helps in reducing the Inventory carrying cost.

- Budget analysis related to capacity, purchasing and inventory.

- Consolidation of warehouses as per the business requirement. This ultimately helps in reduction of warehousing storage, throughput & facility cost.

- Obtain strategic supplier agreements with 3 to 5 key vendors (Transporters), recognized by logistics department to optimize the freight costing and service performance.

- Setting the benchmark prices of Packing Materials (with tolerance norms based on market scenario) & accordingly finalizes the rate contract with leading and new suppliers.

- To formulate and develop sourcing strategies across categories in cost effective manner.

Operational :

- Warehouse Management and Materials Management

- Handling warehousing and Inbound & Outbound logistics of about Rs 500 Cr sales value (at Ex-mill rate) spread over approx 45,000 active SKUs. Ensure, minimal turn- around time.

- Ascertain, hassle free warehousing operations by means of efficient Finished and semi finish goods handling.

- Administering the activities, suppliers, and vendors involved in product procurement, traditional purchasing, materials planning, production planning, inventory control, logistics and distribution to ensure customer orders are timely fulfilled and inventory goals are met.

- Participating in the setup (project) and transferring of processes to new vendors and contract manufacturers.

- Leading the S&OP process as well as cross-functional team for their service need & to set process improvement initiatives.

- Transportation management

- Negotiating and finalizing transport services & other logistics service provider

- Strategising the mode of transportation and aligning SLA for efficient deliveries, as per sales/business requirement.

- Review and implement system for non compliance's.

- Reverse logistics ( ICC & Good returns for AWD & LFS Channel)

- Developing a smooth functioning of return goods operations as per stipulated policy.

- Settling transportation claims as per norms.

Transition Process :

- To implementing strategies of supply chain services to PAN India.

- Managing and leading the team giving support functions like SO Making, invoicing, logistics, warehousing Operations, packing, dispatches, transportation etc. Framing Policies and SOP for smoother operations.

- Ensuring and making SOP FOR Issuing Purchase order on time, Keeping track of purchase order placed & follow- up with supplier for the material to reach in time at plant/production center.

- Packing material procurement

- Developing and implementing centralizing purchasing procedure, SOP for Packing Material.

- Framing System for Selection and development of packing material purchasing, Price negotiations for A, B & C class items for all markets.

- Techno commercial evaluations of new supplier's development and initiate the value chain.

- Develop innovative and new concept in packaging of our products across all categories with improved presentation

- To maintain Vendor performance & purchase product quality audit.

People Development :

- Develop Talent within the team by providing consistent direction and support to achieve stretch targets and take leadership position.

- To motivate the team to deliver more than their belief.

- Find skill gaps and training needs for team members.

- Leadership and development of the Supply Chain planning function

- Leads the Supply Chain Optimization Initiative

Customer :

- Communicating with customers regarding delivery and scheduling issues through the supply chain team.

- Evaluate and monitor customer complaints & review the feedback of all concern and take corrective steps.

- Working closely with other functions to drive overall supply chain efficiency, while working with sales functions to drive overall customer satisfaction in a cost efficient manner.

- More than 15 years- experience in end to end supply chain management with minimum 5 years in senior management.
