Head/Assistant General Manager - Purchase (15-20 yrs)
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Head to manage centralized procurement operations across PAN India manufacturing locations. The role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, cost optimization, compliance, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute centralized procurement strategies across locations
- Forecast material requirements aligned with production & maintenance plans
- Identify, onboard, and manage vendors for raw materials, spares, utilities & services
- Drive cost reduction through negotiation, value engineering & alternate sourcing
- Ensure adherence to procurement budgets and spend controls
- Lead and mentor procurement teams across plants
- Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, tax, and audit requirements
- Support CAPEX procurement and OEM/service provider onboarding
- Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Stores & Finance teams
Key Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of industrial / heat treatment procurement
- Vendor development & contract negotiation skills
- ERP-based procurement exposure preferred
- Strong leadership, analytical & decision-making skills
Qualification: B.Tech + MBA preferred
