Head - Design - Apparel (15-20 yrs)
Job Description :
- We are seeking a creative and experienced Head of Design to lead our Kids Apparel design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong artistic vision and a thorough understanding of both fashion trends and the unique needs of children's clothing. They will be responsible for overseeing the creation of appealing, comfortable, and safe apparel for kids of all ages.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and inspire a team of designers to create innovative and trend-forward kids' apparel collections.
- Conduct market research to identify new trends, fabrics, and techniques.
- Collaborate with the product development and merchandising teams to ensure designs meet cost, quality, and production standards.
- Oversee the design process from concept development to final product, ensuring all items are aligned with the brand's aesthetic and mission.
- Develop and manage the design calendar to ensure timely delivery of collections.
- Work closely with the sourcing team to select sustainable and high-quality materials.
- Ensure all designs adhere to safety standards and regulations specific to children's apparel.
- Foster a creative and collaborative environment within the design team.
- Present collections to stakeholders and provide creative direction for marketing and sales teams.
Education & Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in apparel design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the children's apparel sector.
- Strong portfolio showcasing previous work in kids' apparel.
Skills & Qualifications :
- Exceptional creativity and an eye for color, texture, and pattern.
- Proficient in design software
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of fabric types, garment construction, and children's apparel safety standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in sustainable design practices is a plus.
