Position: Head Design

Qualification: Diploma in Fashion Design (Apparel) from NIFT

Experience : 12 - 20 Yrs

Job Description:

Functional Competencies:

A) To provide product insights/directions in line with the dynamic market requirements/ trends within the well-defined brand philosophy

B) To execute new ideas, concepts & techniques and develop original design, products and packaging

C) To create unique selling and compelling features for each product category

D) To develop consumer validation and value proposition for each product

E) To undertake market visits with business managers to understand the evolving competition and product requirements.

F) To share fashion insights and analysis with buyers to help them choose the appropriate inventory purchases

G) To select garments and accessories that will be used for promotional marketing

Trend Analysis and forecasting:

A) To forecast and identify key consumer trends through market research and consumer feedback analysis.

B) To visit major manufacturers and merchandise markets to get new information on the latest fashion trends

C) To track international trends through various media and visits to apparel fairs both domestic and international

D) To periodically do the competitor analysis and submit the findings to the Sr Management.

Product line planning :

A) To recommend product strategies for achieving business objectives as defined in the business plan made on the basis of forecasting

B) To collaborate with buyers and develop the range as per the range architecture

C) To define category wise product plans along with product mix for various consumer segments

D) To present product development analysis every season in terms of fabric/color/design etc.

Product Development:

A) To manage product development for translating the design requirements to product propositions for the brand

B) To constantly update the core line by ensuring novelty and thereby bringing competitive advantage

C) To manage the process of prototype and final sample development

D) To guide the team on issues related to Style/fir/patterns and construction etc.

E) To ensure the preparation of toolkits for the manufacturing with clear manufacturing requirements
