The Company is looking for a dynamic, high calibre candidate to head the Fire & Safety team.

Location : Mumbai

Reports to : Head of Personnel Function

Role :

- The incumbent proactively and collaboratively works with departments to define strategy, develop and implement guidelines, policies and procedures for Safety Management and loss prevention. Develop, implement, and oversee compliance with Corporate & Statutory Safety and Fire Safety policies and guidelines, working with cross-functional teams and provide guidance and learning/training inputs to business, employees and outsourced employees.

- He shall drive periodic Internal & External Audits to judge the preparedness to deal with disaster, hazardous situations, maintenance and upgrade of firefighting equipment.

Major Responsibilities :

- Define Strategic intent, objectives for Employee Safety & Fire Safety for Organization

- Develop, implement and review company-wide Employee & Fire Safety standards, polices, SOP's and guidelines in full adherence with applicable statutory standards to identify and mitigate risk/damage to company assets and employees

- Ensure the policies, procedures, SOP's are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual requirements, and to identify, minimize or eliminate risk

- Provide subject matter expertise to executive management on a broad range of Employee & Fire Safety standards and best practices

- Offer strategic guidance including the evaluation and recommendation for disaster management for risk mitigation in the area of Employee & Fire Safety

- Create, train and lead the Safety Leads across locations to ensure that applicable safety policies and procedures are in place and implemented fully

- Develop relevant metrics to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the Employee Safety & Fire Safety management program and facilitate appropriate resource allocation

- Oversee disaster response planning and management of Employee Safety & Fire Safety incidents and events to protect infrastructure, property and evacuation

- Investigation of Employee Safety & Fire Safety incidents and assisting with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such incidents as and when necessary

- Work with business leaders to coordinate and manage public relations activities as they relate to the Employee Safety & Fire Safety incident response

- Coordinate the use of external resources involved in the Employee Safety & Fire Safety management, including, but not limited to assisting in negotiating contracts and fees and managing external resources

- Maintain relationships with local, state and central law enforcement and other related government agencies

Candidate :

- Graduate in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with Post Graduate/ Professional Certification in Safety in compliance with statutory requirements.

- Thorough knowledge of relevant Laws and statutory requirements and standards, best practices, latest trends in technology and applicability to current environment. Must have about 15-18 years

- Experience of leading Employee Safety & Fire Safety function in a large organization / conglomerate. Working experience in Petroleum, Chemical, Airlines at corporate level will be preferred
