Head - Electronics Engineering (15-25 yrs)
Position Title : Head - Electronics
Education Qualification : B.E./B.Tech- Electronics or M.E./ M.Tech- Electronics (Preferred M.E./ M.Tech- Electronics)
Experience : 15 years +
Functional Expertise :
- Knowledge of designing electronics hardware of Linear and SMPS/LPS power supplies, Inverter Drives, User Interface devices, firmware, Software for web apps, mobile apps, databases and cloud technology, machine learning algorithm
- Practical experience of wired communication between multiple controllers, e.g. RS485, CANbus, Modbus, BACnet, Homebus, etc.
- Knowledge of home automation systems and related protocols like BACnet, KNX, etc.
- Ability to understand the interface technologies, design for the interfaces with external systems using wireless or wired communication in remote controllers, Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee, etc.
- Complete understanding of Product Development Lifecycles (Electronics Controllers and Drives)
- Knowledge and evaluation of different tools for Firmware, Hardware, and Software development
- Cost management by design optimization and strategic component sourcing
- Knowledge of global Regulatory and Safety standards like CE, IEC, UL etc.
- Knowledge of various design guidelines for electronic controllers and power electronics circuits
- Product and process reliability
Technical Competencies :
- System and embedded technologies for Controllers, Drives and Displays
- Working knowledge of hardware, firmware, software, mobile apps, Cloud and data analytics as well Harness, Panels, Motors
- Regulatory & Safety Standards
- Technical specification of Electronics & Electrical components, sensors
- Robust Product Design tools (DFM, DFMEA, Six Sigma)
- Cost optimization tools (benchmarking & teardown, TCM, DtV)
- Electronics lab infrastructure development
- IoT and connectivity, wired and wireless communication
- Design of electronics to meet the regulations in USA and Europe
- EMS processes and quality systems
Job Purpose :
- To drive Electronic Excellence which includes development of Processes, Systems, Competency building, Resources and Infrastructure development across the Organization including the functions such R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality & Service
- To drive innovation, ensure product quality, and stay at the forefront of technology advancements in the field.
Key Deliverables :
1. Research & Development Leadership
- Responsible for development of embedded controller, Power Electronics, User interfaces & IOT
- Develop and execute a strategic R&D roadmap for electronic components and systems in HVAC products
- Lead a team of electronics engineers and researchers to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and creative problem-solving within the electronics R&D team
2. Technology Assessment and Integration
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in electronics, sensors, and control systems relevant to the HVAC industry
- Identify emerging technologies that can enhance HVAC product performance and energy efficiency
- Evaluate the feasibility of integrating new technologies into existing or future HVAC products
3. Product Design and Development
- Development of Controller Platform/ Architecture in line with latest trends / technology
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers and product managers, to design and develop electronic systems for HVAC products
- Ensure that electronic components are reliable, energy-efficient, and compliant with industry standards and regulations
- Oversee the prototyping and testing of new electronic systems and components
- Establishing Robust practices in design, Vendor Development and Manufacturing for ensuring first time right design
4. Quality Assurance
- Implement robust quality control processes to ensure the reliability and performance of electronic components
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to identify and resolve electronics-related issues in HVAC products
- Monitor and improve product reliability through continuous testing and analysis
5. Cost Management
- Develop cost-effective electronic solutions while maintaining high-quality standards
- Manage the electronics R&D budget, including resource allocation and procurement of equipment and materials
6. Team Development and Management
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of electronics engineers and researchers
- Developing in-house competencies in the field of Digital Technologies, IOT, AI & ML
- Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide coaching and feedback to team members
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment
7. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure that electronic components and systems comply with relevant regulatory standards in ndia as well Oversees (including Europe and US)
- Stay informed about changes in regulations related to electronics in HVAC systems
