We are currently looking for a Head - Machine Design & Development position for one of the largest FMCG Business Conglomerates in India, to be based at Bangalore.

Job Details :

- The incumbent will lead in providing Design Engineering and Developmental inputs for development of indigenous packaging machinery & automation, packaging of new product styles/features, solutions for productivity increase and product quality improvement, import substitution & cost saving, and standardization of shop floor innovations.

The principal accountabilities will include the following :

- Design and development of indigenous machinery for packaging and automation of product flow.

- Development of new Packaging machinery or change kits for new pack styles and product enhancement.

- Development of designs/features for product quality improvements, cost saving, import substitution, etc.

- Scanning/evaluation of contemporary technology and ensuring appropriate technology is proposed for implementation.

- Ability to define the automation and controls required for packaging machinery and ability to get the same implemented through experts/vendors

- Development of Vendor capability to suit evolving technology requirements and identification of new Vendors based on requirement

- Project/program management of design projects at an overall level keeping in mind the design resources and the vendor ecosystem.

- Ability to lead a team of designers and develop their skills & capabilities.

- Review of the the designs made by the team and guide them on best practices in Design

- Capability to provide internal design consultancy across the organisation for emerging design/machinery problems faced by different Divisions

Desired Profile :

The interested candidates should have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering; a post graduate qualification in Machine Design would be desirable. He/she should have at least at least 15 years of experience and knowledge in the following areas:

- Design of Machines for the FMCG industry

- Knowledge of metallurgy and manufacturing processes for machine parts

- Knowledge Automation and Controls related to machinery design

- Well versed with International standards and Materials related to machine building.

- Experience in project /program management of design projects

- Experience in managing a team of designers and vendor ecosystem for machine building

- Good standing and contacts in the Machine Building industry in India.

The compensation will be commensurate with the experience of the selected candidate and as per industry standards.

Job Location : Bangalore

Salary : Best among the industry (Could Range around Rs.40.0- 45.0 Lpa)
